The National Park Authority is governed by members, who have overall responsibility for making decisions, setting the direction of the organisation and ensuring objectives are achieved through the effective use of resources. The 22 members act in the interests of the National Park as whole, representing both the local and national perspective. We have a team of staff employed in a wide variety of roles from planning officers to ecologists, building conservation experts and rangers.

We are responsible for conserving and enhancing the New Forest and promoting understanding and enjoyment of the things that make it special. As well as our nature conservation and visitor information responsibilities, our services include education, recreation and archaeology. We are the local planning authority for the National Park.

We are an equal opportunities employer and we offer good holidays, training and development opportunities, local government pension scheme and a wide range of 'family-friendly' policies and working patterns.
